What’s the difference between Reviews and 360 Feedback?
Reviews are designed for a more traditional performance review between managers and employees only, while 360 Feedback allows multiple stakeholders to provide feedback for any given employee. A key difference is that Reviews support overall ratings and calibration, whereas 360 Feedback does not.
When should I use a Calibration Review vs. a Standard Review cycle?
If your HR admin team needs to have final approval over ratings and reviews before they are shared with employees, you must create a Calibration Review. Otherwise, a Standard Review is likely to be sufficient.
Can someone other than an employee’s direct manager contribute to their review?
Yes! Please see here for more details.
Note that when multiple reviewers are involved in an employee’s review, they will all contribute to the same questionnaire. If you’d like each reviewer to submit their own questionnaire, consider using 360 Feedback instead.
What’s the difference between a deadline and a grace period?
Your deadlines are what employees will see throughout our system and in notifications and reminders. If you enable a grace period, employees are not made aware, but your deadlines become soft deadlines, giving employees until the end of the grace period to finalize and submit their reviews.
What can I do if an employee or manager misses a deadline?
You can extend deadlines from the cycle overview page, either individually or in bulk.
Why can’t an employee sign their review?
It's possible that either the employee or their reviewer has not yet shared the review. More info here.
It's also possible that the review has already been marked as Completed on the admin side. In the "Actions" dropdown on the cycle overview page, look for a "Reopen" option to open the review back up for signing.
What does it mean to mark a review as “Complete”?
Once the reviewee and reviewer have signed the review to indicate that it is finalized from their standpoint, HR admins can mark it as Complete to close the review from an administrative standpoint.
Can employees be reviewed if they do not have a manager, e.g. our CEO?
Yes! Learn more here.
Can I turn off self-assessments and only have managers assess performance?
There isn't a way to disable self-assessments in a Performance Review. If you would like managers to provide feedback for their direct reports without a self-assessment, we suggest using Anytime Feedback or 360 Feedback instead. Please note: Anytime Feedback and 360 Feedback won't include an overall rating like the Performance Review would.
What do I do if an employee's manager changes while a cycle is in progress?
To bulk reset reviewers to each employee's current manager, use the Admin dropdown menu on the cycle overview page and select "Reset Reviewers".
If the employee's former manager also needs to contribute to the review, consider adding the former manager as a secondary reviewer.
Can I export an employee's performance review as a spreadsheet instead of as a PDF?
HR Admins can download an employee's performance review as a spreadsheet via the Export feature found on the review's Cycle Management page.
To export a single employee's performance review as a spreadsheet:
1. Click the Export dropdown menu, then click "Export Cycle Data."
2. A new box will pop up where you can select "Add another filter" to your export.
3. Filter the data by "User" and add the employees whose reviews you'd like to export.
4. Click "Export" in the bottom right corner of that box to begin downloading a zip file.
