Setting objectives that matter starts with meaningful feedback. With our AI tools, you can turn feedback into actionable goals and refine them along the way.

What this article covers

In this article, you’ll learn how to:

  1. Use the Objectives Assistant to identify themes in your feedback

  2. Turn suggested themes into draft objectives

  3. Use the Objectives Coach to refine objectives with AI-powered suggestions

  4. Configure access to these features in your admin settings

Admin configuration

The option to view AI-generated objectives based on recent Anytime Feedback and 360 Feedback is available for Grow, Elevate, Suite, and Gold plans.

When the feature is turned on, it is available to all users in your account. You can turn this feature on or off in the Feature Selection menu of your admin settings.

How it works for employees and managers

If the Objectives Assistant is turned on and you’re participating in an open Objective cycle, you’ll see the option to generate objectives directly from your 360 or Anytime Feedback.

Generating Objectives from Feedback

When feedback is delivered

Once your 360 or Anytime Feedback becomes available:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of your feedback summary.

  2. Click View Suggested Objectives.

AI will analyze your feedback and identify recurring themes or development areas.

AI-powered Objective Suggestions

After clicking View Suggested Objectives:

  1. Review the list of suggested objectives.

  2. Read the short explanation showing how each suggestion connects to your feedback.

  3. Click Create Objective for the one you’d like to use.

  4. Edit the draft to match your voice, priorities, and development goals.

  5. Click Save.

Tip: Use AI suggestions as a starting point. You’re always in control and can tailor objectives to reflect what matters most to you.

This helps you move quickly from reflection to action without starting from scratch.

Objectives AI Coach

Once you’ve created and saved an objective, the Objectives Coach helps you strengthen it using the SMART framework.

SMART goals are:

  • Specific

  • Measurable

  • Achievable

  • Relevant

  • Time-bound

Rather than rewriting your goal, the Coach provides clear, practical suggestions to make it stronger. You decide which changes to apply.

How to use the Objectives Coach

  1. Go to the Objectives tab.

  2. Open an existing objective you’ve created.

  3. Review the AI-generated suggestions (they appear automatically).

  4. Click Edit to improve your wording, add measurable outcomes, or clarify timelines.

  5. Click Save once you’re done.

Note: Employees, managers, and HR users will all see the Objectives Coach suggestions when viewing an employee’s objectives.

Why this matters

Turning feedback into structured, measurable goals helps employees grow with intention. Instead of collecting feedback that sits unused, you’ll be able to:

  • Spot development themes quickly

  • Create focused, actionable objectives

  • Strengthen goals using proven frameworks

  • Support more meaningful performance conversations

You can start light. Let employees experiment with suggestions. The AI supports the process, but the people stay in control.
