[AI] Manager Summary for Reviews

Our AI Summary helps managers highlight the key points from their assessments in Performance Reviews. It saves time and brings clarity to the most important takeaways before sharing feedback with employees.

What the AI Summary does

After a manager completes their assessment and clicks Share, our AI scans the written feedback and pulls out three key points:

  1. A strength

  2. An area for improvement

  3. A learning opportunity

These points are suggested automatically and can be regenerated if needed. The manager can then choose to:

  • Keep the summary and include it when sharing

  • Skip the summary and share the review without it

⚠️ Note: AI summaries are only visible to managers and HR. They are not shared with employees.

Adding the AI Summary to a 1:1

If a manager keeps the AI Summary, they’ll be prompted to schedule a 1:1 with the employee. During this step, the summary points can be added as talking points.

  • These points are visible to the employee only if their visibility is set to Shared.

  • To keep a point private, set its visibility to Visible only to me.

💡 Tip: Use the AI Summary as a quick way to prepare for meaningful conversations in your review debrief. It ensures strengths and development areas are easy to reference.

Best practices

  • Review and edit AI-generated points to ensure they match your tone and intent.

  • Regenerate if the suggestions don’t quite fit.

  • Use the summary as a prompt, not a final judgment. You’re always in control of what’s shared.
