Suggested Objectives and the Objectives Coach are enabled by default to help employees turn feedback into meaningful, measurable development goals.
This article explains how to manage these features in your admin settings and how they support stronger follow-through after feedback cycles across your organization.
Manage Suggested Objectives
Suggested Objectives uses Anytime Feedback and 360 Feedback to generate draft objectives for employees. You can view the employee guide here.
This feature is available on Grow, Elevate, Suite, and Gold plans and is turned on by default for your entire account. Go to Admin > Settings > Feature Selection to turn it off.
How Suggested Objectives Work
When someone is participating in an open Objectives cycle, they’ll see the option to generate objectives directly from their 360 or Anytime Feedback.
When viewing their 360 Feedback or Anytime Feedback, can click to View Suggested Objectives at the bottom of the page.
What happens next
When an employee clicks View Suggested Objectives:
The system analyzes their feedback to identify recurring themes.
A list of suggested objectives appears.
Each suggestion includes a short explanation of how it connects to the feedback.
The employee can click Create Objective.
They can edit the draft before saving it.
Once published, the objective is treated like any other objective created manually. The employee can continuously update the status, key results, and comments to ensure follow-through.
Tip: Encourage managers to position suggestions as a starting point. Employees can refine objectives to reflect their priorities and context.
This workflow helps employees move quickly from insight to action, increasing follow-through after feedback cycles.
The Objectives Coach
Once an objective has been created and saved, the Coach provides AI-powered suggestions to strengthen it using the SMART framework:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-bound
The Coach does not automatically edit the objective. Instead, it provides clear recommendations that employees can incorporate to improve clarity and impact.
Visibility
Employees see suggestions for their own objectives.
Managers see suggestions when viewing their team members’ objectives.
HR Admins see suggestions for everyone.
How to Access the Objectives Coach
Once an objective has been saved, the Coach activates automatically:
Open an existing objective.
Review the generated suggestions.
Click Create Objective to refine the wording.
Click Save.
