Small Improvements and AI

Explore how Small Improvements uses AI to support better feedback and follow-up, and how HR Admins can manage these features.

Updated today

Small Improvements uses AI to help teams give better feedback and follow through on performance conversations. Here’s an overview of where AI is used, how we approach it, and how to manage your settings.

Where AI is used

You’ll find AI features in several areas of the tool. In some areas it's baked into the the user interface seamlessly, in other areas it appears on a sidebar.

Our approach to AI

We’re building AI features thoughtfully, always with a focus on user control, privacy, and value.

Each feature can be selectively deactivated by your organization, and you may also deactivate all current and future features altogether.

Each AI-feature is designed to support (not replace) your voice and to enhance your ability to assess challenges, without taking humans out of the loop. AI assistance is never perfect, so you'll not find automatic workflows such as "Suggest people to lay off" or "Automatically start PIPs for under performers". A human manager is always in charge.

Safeguarding data

We follow strict data security practices. Your content is encrypted and stays private.

We use Google's AI Gemini exclusively, so all your data stays within Google Datacenters where the application databases are hosted already. Google's enterprise version of Gemini does not use customer data for training.

You can find further information about our use of AI in the product and in our work processes in our AI Policy in our trust center.

Developing with intention

We prioritize fairness, privacy, and safety in every AI-powered feature.
