Helpful Resources: Using the sidebar while you work

The Helpful Resources sidebar gives you useful context while you’re working on a Review, giving Feedback, completing 360 Feedback, or preparing for a 1:1 Meeting. You can look back at relevant activity, view profile information, access guidance, and, in Reviews and 1:1 Meetings, use an AI coach without leaving the work in front of you.

Adjusting the sidebar

The Helpful Resources sidebar is open by default.

If you don’t see it, click the arrow in the top-right corner of the screen to open it. You can also collapse the sidebar when you want more space for your main work.

When you need more room to review information, expand the sidebar. It sits beside your work rather than covering it, so you can keep your Review, Feedback, 360 Feedback, or 1:1 Meeting visible while you reference supporting information.

Tip: Expand the sidebar when you want to look through detailed Objectives, feedback, or previous activity while continuing to write.

Viewing relevant activity

The Resources tab brings together information that can help you prepare thoughtful feedback and conversations.

Depending on what’s available and what you have permission to view, you may see:

  • Objectives

  • Praise received

  • Praise given

  • Performance Reviews

  • Feedback

  • 1:1 Meetings

Select an activity to view its details.

Note: You’ll only see information you have permission to access.

Filtering activity

Use the filters at the top of the Resources tab to narrow what you see by person, activity type, or time period.

This can be useful when you’re looking for a specific Objective, Review, piece of feedback, or 1:1 Meeting.

Tip: Start with All Activity for a broader view, then narrow the results when you need something specific.

Using AI Coaches

In Reviews and 1:1 Meetings, the Helpful Resources sidebar includes an AI coach to support you while you work.

The Review Coach can help you assess, refine, or build on what you’ve written in a Review. The 1:1 Coach can help you prepare for a productive conversation.

Because the coach appears alongside your work, you can use its guidance without leaving the Review or 1:1 Meeting.

For more details, see the AI coaches article.

Viewing a team member’s profile

Select the profile icon next to a person’s name to see more information about them.

Depending on what’s available, this can include their bio, role, manager, direct reports, and profile documents.

Viewing guides and Help Center articles

The Guides & Help tab contains additional guidance to support you while giving feedback or preparing for a conversation.

Resources provided by your organization appear first, followed by guidance from Small Improvements.
