First Steps

Trialling and evaluating Small Improvements; preparing for launch

Updated this week

Trial Small Improvements free for 30 days

You can start your 30-day free trial any time, no credit card required. There are almost no limits on functionality during the trial period.

We encourage you to schedule a 15-minute consultation call with our Customer Success team for a personalized demo so that we can get you pointed in the right direction for your trial.

Your account will come populated with sample content to help you test and explore. Use the Test Drive menu in the lower left corner to see the platform from the point of view of an individual contributor vs. a manager vs. a senior executive.

We recommend that you add a few colleagues so that you can test our tools together as a team.

If you decide to move forward with Small Improvements, you'll keep the same trial account, so feel free to hit the ground running!

Preparing for Launch

Once you've decided to move forward with Small Improvements, be sure to start your subscription to avoid interruptions to your account access when your trial expires. (You won't be charged until your trial expires.)

Not sure which plan is best for you? Visit our pricing page to compare plans, and contact our Customer Success team to schedule a quick consultation.

Then, start working your way through our First Steps guide to wipe the sample content, configure your basic account settings, and add users to the account.

Before inviting employees to log in, we recommend sharing an internal announcement to explain what Small Improvements is all about and let them know to look out for their welcome emails. Check out our template for inspiration:

Continuous Feedback Features

Many of our tools are available to employees at all times and can be used without support from management or HR. We recommend making sure these features are ready to go so that employees can start using them immediately.

These features require virtually no setup, but we've listed a few steps you can take to add a personal touch and lower the barrier to entry.

Praise

Recognize great work in real time with Praise, our tool for public recognition.

Anytime Feedback

Give and request private feedback on an ongoing basis.

  • Go to Admin > Anytime Feedback > Settings to tailor the default visibility settings.

  • Share templates for added structure and consistency.

1:1 Meetings

Empower employees to take ownership of their professional development conversations by providing a shared space for preparing meeting agendas, assigning action items, and logging meeting notes.

HR-Driven Features

Other modules are based on cycles created by your HR Admins and can only be used when a cycle is open. Click the links below to get started.

  • Performance Reviews: take some time to reflect back on performance with structured self- and manager-assessments

  • 360 Feedback: paint a more holistic picture of performance with peer feedback, upwards feedback, and guest feedback

  • Objectives: publish, align, and track goals at the individual, team, and company level

Use the Feature Selection menu to hide modules you aren't ready to roll out straight away.

Getting Support and Staying in Touch
